All I know is that Mary appeared to a little girl, whose family was traveling down the Oregon trail, as a storm was approaching and promised that a tornado would never hit this spot, and to date none ever has. The apparition occurred at the sight of a gazebo on the former Jesuit property. To date no tornado has hit Saint Marys, Kansas. In fact some years back a tornado was headed straight for Saint Marys. When it got a few miles south west of town, it changed course, headed due east and went south of town, then on the east side, headed due north and resumed its former course.
